GAO was asked whether members of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center's official pistol team could retain prizes won in organized pistol matches where their participation was a matter of official business. Since the question did not require a determination regarding the expenditure of Government funds, it was not for the Comptroller General to decide. However, since the matter concerns a possible conflict of interest, it should be presented to the Office of Government Ethics for its consideration.
