A member of the Army appealed a Claims Group decision which denied his backpay claim for his service during World War II. The claimant asserted that the Army did not give him service credit for his prior years in the National Guard. GAO held that, because the applicable statutory limitation was 6 years and the claim was filed more than 6 years late, the claim was barred. Accordingly, the decision of the Claims Group was affirmed.
