Highlights
An individual submitted a claim for approximately $1.5 million for certain rental entitlements and misappropriated furniture in connection with the occupation by U.S. Government personnel of a hotel located in Vietnam. Federal law requires that every claim against the United States which is to be reviewed by GAO must be filed with that office within 6 years from the date it accrued or be barred forever. Since the claim was not received within the proper timeframe, it was barred from GAO consideration.
