Highlights

An Army National Guard member contracted a disease during a 5-day period of full-time training duty. It was undisputed that the individual had a disease rather than an injury, and a claim for standard military benefits was made by the individual. GAO concluded that, since this disability occurred during a period of training duty which did not exceed 30 days, the individual was not entitled to hospitalization or medical benefits under military regulations.
