This GAO informational bulletin is intended to help keep managers abreast of accounting matters that are of concern to professional organizations. Matters included were topics of discussion at recent professional conferences or meetings and cover such subjects as: Federal accounting and financial reporting standards; tracking grant funds; the National Council on Governmental Accounting; the Auditing Standards Advisory Council; and depreciation accounting for railroads.
