The ninth in a series of GAO Review articles, which appeared in the GAO Review, Vol. 15, Issue 4, Fall 1980, on regional offices is presented. The Seattle regional office has been particularly active in planning work dealing with energy, health, education, environmental protection, American Indians, Alaska natives, and programs geared to the elderly. The office's audits have covered power marketing programs, pipeline construction, fishery conservation, deep-ocean mining, forestry research, management of closed nuclear facilities, and construction practices at dams.
