Request for Reimbursement of Househunting Trip Expenses

Reconsideration was requested of a decision denying reimbursement of expenses in the amount of $182.28 incurred by the claimant on a househunting trip. The claimant was transferred to a new duty station and made a househunting trip prior to issuance of written authorization for the trip and the transfer. Based upon new evidence that the employee was verbally authorized the trip by a responsible official prior to issuance of the official written authorization and before any househunting expenses were incurred, these expenses may be reimbursed. The voucher originally submitted in this matter was returned for payment.
