Highlights

A relative of Corporal Ernst Schuchardt, who died at the Battle of Gettysburg during the Civil War, requested consideration of her claim for a bonus that was never paid in connection with Corporal Schuchardt's service. The Act of December 22, 1911 provided that a Civil War claim would no longer be considered after December 31, 1911; accordingly, no further consideration may be given to a claim of this nature.
