Protest Alleging Improper Cancellation of IFB

Prior to the award of a set-aside contract for the installation of doors and door frames in the construction of an Air National Guard Station, the contracting officer was notified by Maron Construction Co., Inc. that the invitation for bids (IFB) had erroneous and ambiguous specifications. Further research confirmed this fact and the contracting officer cancelled the IFB. The tentative awardee protested the cancellation. However, since cancellation of bids containing defective specifications are proper when cancelled prior to award, the protester's claim was dismissed.
