Highlights

An employee of the United States Air Force who was assigned to temporary duty in Southeast Asia and performed the duties of a higher grade is not entitled to a higher rate of pay for the initial 120 days of the assignment because he was not granted a temporary promotion to the higher grade. Employees detailed to higher grade positions for more than 120 days with Civil Service Commission approval are entitled to retroactive temporary promotions with backpay for the period beginning with the 121st day of the detail until termination of the detail.
