Highlights

A Federal employee appealed the denial of his claim for real estate expenses incident to his transfer to a new duty station. The claim was denied on the basis that the settlement date for the sale of the residence at his old duty station was beyond the 2-year time limitation contained in the Federal Travel Regulations. Because the employee failed to meet the 2-year time limitation, there was no authority for the reimbursement of expenses incurred in connection wih the sale of his residence, regardless of the circumstances present. Accordingly, the denial of the claim was sustained.
