Transportation of Household Goods pursuant to Assignment under the Intergovernmental Personnel Act

Reimbursement for transportation of household goods for an individual assigned under the Intergovernmetal Personnel Act was questioned. The assignment agreement provided that the agency would pay travel and transportation expenses; this included the expense of movement of household goods. However, since the goods were shipped from the place of permanent employment at the time of assignment to a destination other than the assignment location after the assignment had been completed, the individual may not be reimbursed.
