Request for Contract Rescission because of Error in Bid

The agency questioned whether it could rescind a contract for the sale of surplus property because of an error in the bid noted after the award. Because of the wide range in bid prices, the contracting officer was on constructive notice of possible error and should have sought verification. The contract may be rescinded without liability to the company.
