Employee's Entitlement to Funeral Travel and Leave

An advance decision was requested regarding an employee's entitlement to funeral travel and leave. The employee had departed on a Saturday before the Monday of authorized travel for training and was notified of the death on Monday. He may be reimbursed for travel to the point of abandonment of official duty, but return travel was personal and cannot be reimbursed. He should be charged annual leave after the abandonment of duty.
