Two companies protested the cancellation of a solicitation for moving services and a resolicitation. GAO recommended that the cancelled solicitation be reinstated and award made to Tennessee Valley Service Company which requested that the contract be awarded for a period of 1 year from the date of award. The award could not be made to Tennessee Valley Service Company because the contract period would not extend for a full year, the time stipulated by the company. Tennessee Valley Service Company's request for damages representing anticipated profits was rejected, as was its request for attorney's fees. (SW)
