Transportation Expenses of Minor Children

An authorized certifying officer, Department of Agriculture, requested a decision on travel expenses of a divorced employee's minor children who reside with their mother 11 months of a year and who visit the father for 1 month. The claim was disallowed since the time that the children lived with the father was of insufficient duration to warrant determination that they were members of employee's household.
