Survey of States' Utilization Review Programs for Noninstitutional Services Under Medicaid

A survey of States' utilization review programs for noninstitutional service under Medicaid showed that there was considerable variation among the States regarding the extent and emphasis of their programs and that about 70 percent of the States could not provide any quantifiable information on the results of their program in terms of claims denied.
