What Constitutes Temporary Quarters

Highlights

A transferred employee who sold his residence at his old duty station continued to occupy the residence on a rental basis because he was advised that he could thus be reimbursed for temporary quarters expense. Such reimbursement is not authorized because there is no evidence of the employee's intention to vacate. Incorrect advice by agency officials cannot be the basis for reimbursement.
