Highlights

An employee claimed subsistence and temporary quarters expenses incident to transfer of duty station. He may not be reimbursed for temporary quarters of his family as they remained with him 30 days and then returned to and occupied former residence for 1 1/2 years. Fact that house was not listed for sale and fact that wife was employed in area after return indicate family did not intend to vacate residence. Further, he may not be reimbursed for temporary quarters expenses for himself where he remained in rental quarters 1 1/2 years. Facts mentioned do not support conclusion that rented quarters were in fact temporary. Dependent's travel after employee has relocated but within 2-year period allowed by regulations, may be paid. Miscellaneous expenses up to $200.00 were also authorized.
