Request for Reformation of Contract

Highlights

A contractor requested an increase in price in connection with an error alleged to have been made in its bid. A similar contract awarded to another company for the previous fiscal year specified a monthly cost almost four times that bid by the protester. Since the contracting officer should have suspected an error in the bid but failed to request verification, the contract may be reformed on the basis of the intended bid price if the contractor had furnished documentation to establish the intended bid price.
