Reimbursement of Legal Fees as Part of Real Estate Expenses

An advance decision was requested as to whether an employee could be reimbursed for legal expenses incurred incident to the sale and purchase of homes incident to his transfer to a new duty station. The employee may not be reimbursed since the bills for legal fees were not itemized and portions of the bills were not allocated to each item. The employee may be reimbursed only for those portions of the legal fees relating to services specifically enumerated in applicable regulations.
