Eligibility for Travel and Transportation Expenses and for Temporary Lodging Allowances Incident to Transfers

An employee requested reconsideration of the disallowance of two claims he submitted. As a civilian employee of the Department of the Navy, he claimed travel and transportation expenses. That claim was not for payment since he was informed prior to travel that such reimbursement was not authorized and that the transfer was determined to be for the convenience of the employee. As a civilian employee of the Department of the Army, the employee claimed payment of a temporary lodging allowance incident to a transfer overseas. The employee was not entitled to the allowance since he was provided, and resided in, government-owned quarters during the entire period of time covered by the claim.
