Reimbursement for Househunting Trip Following Cancellation of Transfer

A decision was requested on the propriety of paying an employee's claim for relocation expenses incurred on a househunting trip in connection with a transfer which was subsequently canceled. The employee may be reimbursed for the expenses since cancellation of the transfer was in the best interest of the government.
