Claim for Reimbursement of Closing Fee Incident to Sale of Residence

A decision was requested as to whether an employee could be reimbursed for legal fees incurred in the sale of his residence at his old duty station. The employee's prorated share of the fee, listed as a closing fee, was reimbursable to the extent that it represented specific services allowed by the Federal Travel Regulations and to the extent that it was determined reasonable in light of the appropriate Department of Housing and Urban Development schedule of closing costs.
