Request for Relief From Error in Bid Alleged After Contract Award

A decision was requested with regard to a mistake in bid alleged after award of a contract. The contracting officer failed to verify the low bid which contained an apparent inconsistency and, thereby, raised the clear possibility of an error in price. Acceptance of the bid did not result in a valid and binding contract since the contracting officer was on constructive notice as to the possibility of an error.
