Reconsideration of Claim for Living Quarters Allowances

An employee requested reconsideration of a decision sustaining the disallowance of her claim for a living quarters allowance while employed by the agency in Europe. The employee, who was hired by the agency after accompanying her military-member husband to his post in Europe, claimed the allowance for the period after her husband retired from the military when she earned more than 51 percent of the family income. The employee was entitled to receive the allowance under provisions for local-hire waiver, but disallowance of her claim for tuition-free education for her child was sustained.
