Review of Settlement of Claim for Additional Transportation Charges

The carrier requested review of a settlement which disallowed its claim for additional transportation charges. Where the applicable tariff provided that if transportation charges for a longer route were less than the charges for a shorter route because of the avoidance of bridge, ferry, or tunnel charges, then charges for the longer route applied, notwithstanding the fact that the Government did not request the longer route.
