An advance decision was requested as to whether an employee may be reimbursed for legal fees in connection with his defense against charges of traffic offenses committed while on official business. Payment of all expenses related to the charges of traffic violations which occurred while in the performance of, but not as part of, official duties, is the personal responsibility of the employee, and reimbursement may not be made with public funds.
