Pursuant to a congressional request, GAO reviewed certain administrative matters of the Department of Justice's former Internal Security Division. GAO noted that the: (1) total obligations incurred by the Division during fiscal year 1971 exceeded the total amount of funds allotted; (2) Division's actions violated the Antideficiency Act; and (3) Attorney General should report to the President and Congress all pertinent facts regarding this violation of the Antideficiency Act together with a statement of the action taken thereon.
