Spouse's Travel to Attend Awards Ceremony

The Department of Agriculture asked GAO to determine whether two employees were entitled to reimbursement for expenses incurred by themselves and their spouses at an awards ceremony. GAO held that the two employees were entitled to reimbursement for lodging and full per diem, expenses, since they were authorized: (1) temporary duty travel to receive awards at the departmental ceremony; and (2) to be accompanied by their spouses.
