Claim for Additional Payment Under Air Force Contract

GAO commented on a firm's claim for reimbursement and additional payment of costs expended for the construction of Air Force housing units. The firm contended that it should: (1) be reimbursed for its erroneous payment of state sales tax; and (2) receive additional payment for the changes it proposed to make to the Air Force housing units. GAO held that while the firm should be reimbursed for its erroneous payment of state sales tax, its claim for additional payment should be denied, since the work releases did not stipulate that the changes resulting in added expenses would be made.
