WASHINGTON (March 29, 2023) – For the third consecutive year, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) ranked number one in the Partnership for Public Service’s Best Places to Work rankings released today. GAO placed first overall among mid-size federal agencies.
“I’m proud that GAO has earned the number one spot in ‘Best Places to Work’ for the third year in a row,” said Gene L. Dodaro, Comptroller General of the United States and head of the GAO. “This recognition is a testament to the value we place on our dedicated employees to carry out GAO’s mission of improving government performance and serving Congress and the public. I am so proud of each member of our highly diverse and multi-disciplinary workforce.”
The Partnership's rankings, issued annually, are derived from a survey of civil servants across the federal government and provide insight into the views of federal workers in the areas of leadership, innovation, and work–life balance. This year GAO’s employment engagement and satisfaction score was 87.7. GAO has consistently placed among the top five overall since 2005.
GAO prioritizes a workplace that values, respects, and treats all employees fairly with a strong commitment to collaboration, accountability, and a sense of community. To find out more about GAO’s workforce, company culture, and GAO career opportunities, visit Careers | U.S. GAO.
