Smithsonian Institution The Secretary of the Smithsonian should include affiliated persons in measures used to assess organizational climate at the Smithsonian—which may include incorporating affiliated persons into current efforts or developing additional measures specific to these persons. (Recommendation 3)

The Smithsonian agreed with this recommendation. According to a letter dated October 2020, the Smithsonian Office of Fellowships and Internships will ensure all interns, fellows, and research associates receive notice of the Smithsonian's new Anti-Harassment Policy, the new Smithsonian Civil Program, and how to report complaints during the onboarding process. Additionally, the Office of Fellowships and Internships will include new questions in the exit survey sent to departing interns, fellows, and research associates focused on their overall Smithsonian experience and awareness of policies
