Human Resources Management The Assistant Administrator for Human Resource Management should ensure that planned skill gap assessments, conducted in coordination with FAA offices, are based on quantitative information about gaps in all critical skills for employees across all mission-critical occupations.

In September 2022, FAA reported to us that in FY-23, it plans to conduct competency gap assessments of supervisors of FAA employees in 18 FAA mission critical occupations. These are occupations for which FAA has already developed competency models. FAA plans to analyze the results of those assessments in FY 23 as well. In addition, FAA officials said that they are working on developing competency models for the remaining FAA mission critical occupations for which competency models do not currently exist. In FY-24, FAA plans to finalize those competency models and to complete a competency gap
