| Department of the Army | To promote well-informed decisions about the Plan's projects that are presented for approval in future authorization acts, the Secretary of the Army should provide Congress with updates that: (1) reflect the cumulative project and cost changes to the overall Plan; and (2) indicate the progress being made toward implementing the Plan. The updates should be made at the same time as subsequent authorization proposals. The Corps should also provide these updates to the state of Florida. |

The Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan 2005 Report, transmitted to Congress on September 22, 2006, is the first in a series of periodic reports fulfilling requirements of the Water Resources Development Act of 2000. The report summarizes the progress made in the first five years of CERP implementation and the accomplishments expected over the next five years. The report also includes expenditures for the first five years along with forecasts for funding requirements for the next five years.
