The Senate Recording Studio, operated by the Sergeant at Arms of the Senate, makes film, videotape, and audiotape recordings for the Vice President, Senators, and committees of the Senate. Studio operations are financed from a revolving fund and from funds appropriated to the Secretary of the Senate.
Financial statements were prepared from the Studio's accounting records. During fiscal year 1980, operating results improved because sales increased at a greater rate than costs. The Studio's financial records, which were maintained on a cash basis, were adjusted to present the financial position and results of the revolving fund operations on an accrual basis. As of March 31, 1980, the changes in the Studio's financial position for the period ended on a basis consistent with that of preceding years.
