The Statement of Accounting Principles and Standards submitted by the Southeastern Power Administration conforms in all material respects with the accounting principles and standards prescribed by GAO and is, therefore, approved. In order to maintain the approved status of the Statement of Accounting Principles and Standards, any planned changes in it should be discussed with GAO representatives and, if deemed significant, submitted formally for approval. Representatives of GAO will continue to cooperate with the Department of the Interior and the Southeastern Power Administration in the development of the design of an accounting system that will be responsive to the Administration's management needs.
