A firm requested reconsideration of its dismissed protest of an Immigration and Naturalization Service contract award. GAO had held that the protester untimely filed its protest more than 10 days after knowing the basis of protest. In its request for reconsideration, the protester contended that GAO was required to review its untimely protest, since it raised a significant issue. GAO held that the protest did not warrant consideration under the significant-issue exception, since it was not of widespread significance to the procurement community. Accordingly, the request for reconsideration was denied.
