GAO provided Congress a variety of statistical data concerning rescissions proposed and enacted from passage of the Impoundment Control Act of 1974 to the present. The level of interest dictated that GAO regularize the data collection and reporting processes with respect to rescission proposals. Accordingly, to keep Congress apprised of the amount and frequency of rescissions proposed and enacted, GAO will periodically submit rescission information. This document includes such information.
