[Decision Concerning Storage of VA Employee's Household Goods]

A Veterans Administration (VA) employee claimed reimbursement for additional storage time for his household goods incident to his transfer. GAO held that the employee was not entitled to reimbursement, since the authorizing statute limited reimbursement to 180 days. GAO remanded the claim to VA for a waiver determination, since the overpayment resulted from an erroneous authorization. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
