GAO was asked about the propriety of reimbursing an Army member for the use of a privately owned vehicle in traveling from his residence to his normal duty station after usual working hours to perform additional assignments. GAO held that reimbursement for travel between residence and normal duty location to perform additional assignments was a personal expense and that this claim did not provide an exception to the general rule. Accordingly, payment of the claim was denied.
