WE REFER TO YOUR LETTER OF APRIL 27, 1964, REFERENCE AFPCPAA, FROM THE CHIEF OF YOUR LEGISLATION AND REGULATIONS BRANCH, CLASSIFICATION AND REGULATIONS DIVISION, RELATIVE TO THE INDEBTEDNESS OF MR. WILLIAM B. JOHNSON, A FORMER EMPLOYEE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE AT WIESBADEN, GERMANY.

SINCE IT HAS BEEN REASONABLY ESTABLISHED THAT MR. JOHNSON WAS ENTITLED, AS A MATTER OF RIGHT UNDER SECTION 7 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE EXPENSES ACT OF 1946, AS AMENDED, 5 U.S.C. 73B-3, TO RETURN TRANSPORTATION TO DAYTON, OHIO, AT GOVERNMENT EXPENSE INCIDENT TO HIS SEPARATION FOR RETIREMENT PURPOSES AT WIESBADEN, GERMANY, AND SINCE THE REQUIREMENT OF HIS ORDERS THAT HE AWAIT GOVERNMENT TRANSPORTATION FROM JUNE 30, 1961, WHEN HIS PAY AND ENTITLEMENT TO GOVERNMENT QUARTERS TERMINATED, TO AUGUST 23, 1961, IS CONSIDERED UNREASONABLE, WE HAVE INSTRUCTED OUR CLAIMS DIVISION TO ALLOW HIM THE FULL AMOUNT OF HIS CLAIM ($355.15) FOR TRANSPORTATION FOR HIMSELF, LESS ANY UNREFUNDED HE ALREADY MAY HAVE RECEIVED ON ACCOUNT OF SUCH RETURN TRAVEL.
