GAO reviewed the Envrionmental Protection Agency's (EPA) new rule on emission standards for hazardous air pollutants. GAO found that (1) the final rule promulgates national emission standards for hazardous air pollutants for automobiles and light-duty trucks surface coating operations located at major sources of hazardous air pollutants; and (2) EPA complied with the applicable requirements in promulgating the rule.
