REFERENCE IS MADE TO LETTERS DATED DECEMBER 20, 1954, FROM THE ASSISTANT POSTMASTER GENERAL, FILE REFERENCE MO-DMB, AND APRIL 18, 1955, FROM THE SOLICITOR, FILE REFERENCE AGW:TP 39-A-4-D, RELATIVE TO CLAIMS PRESENTED BY THE CENTRAL BANK OF THE PHILIPPINES, REPUBLIC OF THE PHILIPPINES, FOR VARIOUS UNITED STATES POSTAL MONEY ORDERS WHICH HAD BEEN SEIZED UNDER THEIR EXCHANGE REGULATIONS.

THERE IS ENCLOSED A COPY OF OUR LETTER OF TODAY, B-119497, TO THE CENTRAL BANK OF THE PHILIPPINES SUSTAINING THE PRIOR

DISALLOWANCE OF ITS CLAIM FOR 486 SUCH MONEY ORDERS TOTALING $32,780.50 WHICH HAD BEEN FORWARDED TO THIS OFFICE BY LETTER OF SEPTEMBER 18, 1953, FILE REFERENCE JAD:RHC, FROM THE CONTROLLER, BUREAU OF ACCOUNTS, OF YOUR DEPARTMENT.

IN VIEW OF THE CIRCUMSTANCES INVOLVED, NO FURTHER QUESTION AS TO THE PAYMENTS PREVIOUSLY MADE BY YOUR DEPARTMENT ON OTHER POSTAL MONEY ORDERS SIMILARLY CONFISCATED--- AS CITED IN OUR LETTER OF DECEMBER 17, 1954, B- 119497, AND THE SOLICITOR'S LETTER OF APRIL 18, 1955--- WILL BE MADE BY THIS OFFICE. HOWEVER, CARE SHOULD BE EXERCISED TO AVOID ANY FURTHER PAYMENT OF SIMILAR ORDERS.
