[Protest of USDA Contract Award for Moisture Meters]
B-278659: Feb 25, 1998
- Full Report:
A firm protested a Department of Agriculture (USDA) contract award for manual and automated grain moisture meters, contending that USDA's selection of a higher technically rated, higher-priced bid for award was unreasonable. GAO held that USDA reasonably selected the higher-rated, higher-priced bid, since the awardee's bid was technically superior to the protester's bid and the advantages of the awardee's bid warranted the payment of a price premium. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
