A Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) employee requested an indebtedness waiver for excess freight costs she incurred pursuant to the shipment of her automobiles to her new duty station, contending that the excess costs should be waived, since a VA purchasing agent erroneously advised her that the excess shipment costs would be paid by the agency. GAO held that the claimant's debt could not be waived, since the claimant failed to provide adequate evidence of the erroneous advice she allegedly received. Accordingly, the claim was denied.
