[Retired Navy Officer's Claim for Freight Transportation Expenses]
B-261774: Nov 27, 1995
- Full Report:
A retired Navy officer claimed reimbursement for household goods (HHG) moving expenses, contending that: (1) Navy personnel approved his interim HHG storage plan; and (2) the Navy granted him an extension for moving his HHG. GAO held that the: (1) claimant was only entitled to reimbursement for moving expenses to his listed destination; and (2) erroneous advice given by Navy personnel did not contravene existing regulations. Accordingly, the claim was partially denied.
