[Protest of Navy Exercise of Contract Option for Training Targets]
B-257047.2: Nov 13, 1995
- Full Report:
A firm protested the Navy's exercise of a contract option for sonar training targets, contending that the Navy improperly exercised the option without complying with applicable regulations. GAO held that the: (1) Navy was not required to issue a new solicitation to determine the probable costs of the required items under the contract option; (2) Navy reasonably determined that exercising the contract option was the least expensive way to obtain the items; and (3) protester failed to present any information that supported its contention that it could offer a lower price. Accordingly, the protest was denied.
