The Army requested reconsideration of a sustained protest of an Army solicitation for a degreasing machine. GAO had held that the solicitation specifications could not be met and overstated the Army's needs. In its request for reconsideration, the Army contended that the specifications were not defective, since they were being met under another contract. GAO held that the Army's request for reconsideration was based on information that was available, but not proffered, during consideration of the initial protest. Accordingly, the request for reconsideration was denied.
