[Request for Reconsideration of Claim for Real Estate Expenses]
B-251211.2: Mar 9, 1994
- Full Report:
A Soil Conservation Service employee requested reconsideration of his denied claim for real estate expenses incident to his transfer, contending that he regularly commuted between his new residence and his new work location. GAO held that the claimant's real estate expenses were not considered incident to his transfer, since: (1) his residence was not within the ordinary commuting distance of his new work location; and (2) he only worked at his new work location for 5 days before his transfer. Accordingly, the original decision was affirmed.
